The high cost of housing in Massachusetts leaves many families rent-burdened. Without more affordable options for housing or prospects for higher wage jobs, families with low incomes may eventually find themselves without safe, permanent housing. These families join the more than 11,000 children and parents already residing in Massachusetts homeless shelters, in addition to the innumerable families living on couches, in cars, or other emergency housing options.

As a One Family Coach, you'll work to break down barriers to education and career access for parents, helping them achieve financial independence and housing stability.

Breaking barriers to education and career access

As a One Family Coach, you’ll prevent family homelessness by helping parents increase their incomes and achieve economic and housing stability for themselves and their families. You’ll foster close relationships with parents and support their journey to identify, set, and reach important goals on the way to achieving their vision of success. You’ll earn a competitive salary and benefits as you serve as a positive and encouraging advocate, and introduce the key tools and knowledge that can help people to be their best and achieve their dreams.

Who makes a good coach?

As a coach, your achievements are viewed through the successes of others. You’ll be a great coach if you’re invested in the success of the parents we serve, and are able to draw from your own personal and professional experiences to inspire others. This doesn’t require that you have held big titles before, but it can be helpful to have overcome obstacles in your own life and to have achieved success in life and career as defined by you. We’ll be most interested in your application if you can demonstrate a commitment to families experiencing homelessness and a commitment to racial, economic, and social justice.

Prior paid or volunteer experience working with families with low incomes
Prior experience coaching or mentoring adults to achieve challenging life goals
Demonstrated ability to cultivate a growth mindset and to solicit and learn from positive and adjusting feedback
Demonstrated capacity for self-awareness, self-reflection and re-thinking, and teamwork as a member of a diverse and inclusive team
Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing priorities and to deliver multi-step assignments on time

Get to know the coaching team

Tanezsha Bostic, Coach

Tanezsha joined One Family in March 2022 as a Coach. In this role, Tanezsha works to support the Credential to Career Coaching program, helping parents create career goals and achievable plans that will lead them and their families to financial stability. Tanezsha received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in business administration from UMass Lowell, and received a master’s certificate in business management from Suffolk University. Before joining the team, Tanezsha worked at various nonprofit organizations serving diverse and low-income families seeking economic stabilization, job placement, and home stabilization, along with working in college admissions for 4 years.

Erika Del Rosario, Senior Coach

Erika joined One Family in November 2021 as a Senior Coach in the Credential to Career program. Prior to joining the team, she worked in college affordability, youth and adult program development, events fundraising and family engagement for student success with nonprofits and school districts in Greater Boston and the gateway cities of Massachusetts. In her role, Erika works with participants to help them create career goals and actionable plans that will lead them and their families to financial stability. Erika holds a bachelor’s degree in arts administration and entrepreneurship from Simmons University and is currently pursuing a masters in social work from Simmons University.

Emily MacMillan, Senior Coach

Emily joined One Family in July 2020 as a coach in the Credential to Career program. Prior to joining the team, she worked in workforce development, education, and program management with nonprofit organizations serving youth in the Boston area. She started her career as a public high school teacher in St. Louis and also worked in Boston Public Schools. As a coach, Emily works with participants to help them create career goals and actionable plans that will lead them and their families to financial stability. Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Syracuse University and a master’s degree in sociology from Boston College.

Bithja Meus, Coach

Bithja joined One Family in March 2022 as a Coach in the Credential to Career Coaching program. Prior to working at One Family, Bithja worked as an elementary school teaching assistant in East Providence and at various youth organizations on social, emotional, and mental health and wellness curriculum. She graduated from Rhode Island College with a degree in youth development.

Dominique Santistevan, Coach

Dominique Joined One Family in October 2021. In her role, Dominique works closely with the Senior Coach to support One Family Scholars as they navigate their academic programs and strive towards their educational goals. Before coming to One Family, Dominique interned with Boston City Councilor Andrea Campbell's office and Boston Children’s Hospital, conducting policy and resource research and organizing stakeholder meetings. Prior to this experience Dominique was a direct service provider for a number of non-profit housing and mental health organizations in her home city of Albuquerque, NM for six years. Dominique earned her B.S. in psychology from the University of New Mexico and a master's in social work from Boston University.

Femi Stoltz, Coaching Manager

Femi joined One Family in January 2020. She oversees coaching and relationship management for our Credential to Career (C2C), One Family Scholars, and Technical Assistance programs. In addition to program management, Femi coaches a small caseload of program participants. Prior to joining One Family, Femi worked in higher education for several years as an academic advisor, career counselor, and employer partnership manager. Femi holds a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in public administration from Bridgewater State University, and is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in diversity and inclusion leadership at Tufts University.
