Board of Directors

Ivette Arias has served on One Family's Board since April 2021. She is currently the Human Resources Director at Greater Lawrence Community Action Council Inc. (GLCAC). Ivette has decades of experience in healthcare human resources, with previous roles at Pine Street Inn, Codman Square Health Center, Lynn Community Health Center, Manet Community Health Center, and Commonwealth Care Alliance. Ivette earned a B.S. in Public Policy and Community Studies from UMass Boston and a master's degree in Human Resource Management from Emmanuel College. She is also an alumna of the One Family Scholars Program.

Doug Baumoel has served on One Family's Board since January 2022. Doug is a nationally recognized family enterprise expert and author of Deconstructing Conflict: Understanding Family Business, Shared Wealth and Power. He is the founder of Continuity Family Business Consulting, which has advised hundreds of family-owned enterprises about corporate and family governance, succession planning, conflict management, leadership, and wealth integration. Doug also serves on the Board of Directors of Newton-based Giner Inc. He is a graduate of Cornell University and holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Frank Carpenito has served on One Family’s Board since May 2014, and recently was the Board lead in the development of our 2017-2020 Strategic Plan. He currently serves as President and CEO of the Gem Group, a Massachusetts-based consumer products company.  Previously, he served as President/CEO for four other New England consumer products companies including BigMouth, Inc., Fairfield Farm Kitchens, Gordon Brothers RetailExchange and Dancing Deer Baking Company, which partnered with One Family for over 10 years.  Additionally, Frank held key leadership roles at Procter & Gamble and Pepsi-Cola. Frank holds a B.S. in management from Boston College.

Elliot Herman, CFP®, CPA joined the One Family Board in April 2023. He is an Executive Director at Edelman Financial Engines and a regular contributor to the financial press including CNBC and MarketWatch.  An active volunteer, Elliot has worked with many local non-profits providing guidance on finance, development, and governance.  Elliot earned a BA in Economics from Brandeis University and an MS/MBA from Northeastern University.

Barbara Duncan Marchetti has been the Board Chair of One Family, Inc. since 2018. She brings with her both a depth of experience with One Family since its inception and an expertise in the area of workforce development. She is the founder of C-suite Corp. which specializes in executive search and customized training.  Barbara also serves on the Board of Trustees for Austin Preparatory School in Reading, MA.  She has a B.A. in Spanish and business from Colby College.

Gerry joined the One Family Board in 2024.  Gerry spent a majority of his career at EY where he was a Tax Consulting Partner focused on providing tax consulting services to the financial services industry.  After his retirement from EY, Gerry was a Vice President of Global Tax Planning at TIAA.  Currently, Gerry is a Managing Director at CBIZ MHM, LLC where he leads the financial services tax practice.  Gerry has previously held leadership positions at local religious institutions and was also actively involved with youth sports.  Gerry is a graduate of Babson College.  

​Jameel Moore has served on One Family's Board since January 2022.  Jameel is senior counsel at the Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP), where she provides legal advice and regulatory guidance to MHP’s internal teams, senior management, and the executive team. Prior to this, Jameel was an associate in Anderson & Kreiger’s commercial real estate practice group, where she focused on a wide array of commercial real estate transactions. Jameel also co-chairs the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Steering Committee of the Boston Bar Association and serves as the president-elect of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association. Jameel earned her J.D. and LL.M. from Boston University School of Law and her B.A. from Boston College.

Adam Rogers has been a One Family Board Member since 2007. Adam is a co-founder of Hemera Biosciences, a company focusing on treating dry age related macular degeneration with a single intraocular gene therapy injection. At Hemera he served as the CEO from 2017 through the sale of all assets to Janssen Pharmaceuticals in late 2020. Adam is also trustee of the Paul and Phyllis Fireman Foundation, and has been involved in One Family since its inception over 20 years ago.

Michael Simons joined One Family's Board in 2017. Michael has always known the transformative power of education. He volunteers with inner-city and at-risk high-school students and helps them successfully enter and navigate college. With a background in developmental psychology and in business, Michael draws inspiration from the families which One Family Inc., serves, while - at the same time - contributing from his deep set of educational and life experiences.

Neema Uthappa joined One Family’s Board in 2025. She is Partner and Chief Information Officer at Oliver Wyman, bringing over 23 years of experience in driving growth, operational excellence, and strategic digital transformation across sectors. Neema began her career as one of the first three executive women officers (Works) in the Indian Navy and later held leadership roles at American Express, McKesson, and McKinsey & Co., earning recognition for groundbreaking innovations, multiple patents, and award-winning technology transformations. Recognized as an expert in AI, blockchain, and automation, she is also a mentor to entrepreneurs, an advocate for women in technology, particularly single mothers, and the author of The Cinderella Elephant. Neema holds an Executive MBA from IIM Indore and a bachelor’s degree from VTU.
