Pandemic EBT food assistance

Under a new initiative called Pandemic EBT ("P-EBT"), all families with children who participate in the free/reduced school lunch program will receive a payment from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts equivalent to $5.70 per student per weekday, which is $28.50 per week for each child who participates in free or reduced school lunch. Families who receive SNAP or TAFDC benefits will have the P-EBT funds loaded onto their EBT card. Families who do not receive SNAP or TAFDC benefits will receive a P-EBT card in the mail for each eligible child. P-EBT benefits can be used at any store or farmer's market that accepts SNAP. Benefits can be used for up to a year after they are loaded onto the EBT card.
