CARES Act emergency funds for college students

The U.S. Department of Education has distributed over $6 billion to U.S. colleges and universities through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund established by the CARES Act. 100% of the funds distributed to date must be passed on directly to students “for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus, including eligible expenses under a student’s cost of attendance, such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and childcare.”

If you are a college student in financial distress and have NOT received an emergency grant, reach out to your school's financial aid office directly.
