Assist Families in Shelter:

Help paint and re-decorate rooms in a family shelter.

Volunteer to do yard work, gardening, cleaning etc...

Volunteer to work with children in play spaces.

Tutor a child or young mother.

Offer to host a special event, birthday or holiday party for the parents and children in a shelter.

Host an outing to a local museum, the beach or a local event for the families.

Find out if there are special services that can be donated from your community; hair cuts, manicures, exercise classes, financial planning, etc..

Hold an item drive for the shelter: winter coats, hats, and gloves, back to school supplies, baby items, etc.
Bring Families Home:

Create a fund to assist families with the up-front costs of moving into permanent housing.

Sponsor a family in their move from shelter to permanent housing: assist with moving costs, transportation, provide physical assistance.

Donate cleaning supplies and other household items.

Sponsor a furniture/household goods drive and transport donated furniture to a shelter or to a family’s apartment.
Support Programming:

Mentor a One Family Scholar in her journey to further her education, build career skills and develop leadership potential.

Contribute to the One Family Scholar Program to help a scholar achieve her potential.

Participate in One Family’s fundraising initiative, The Sweet Home Project. Sell and eat cookies to help homeless families.
