A not-for-profit organization founded in 1999 by Paul and Phyllis Fireman and family, with the mission to end family homelessness in Massachusetts. Our central belief is; that no parent and child should be homeless in this state. One Family works to end homelessness by advocating for polices and practices that reform the way homelessness is addressed. Our advocacy work is dedicated to creating lasting systems change and promoting innovative and permanent solutions to family homelessness.
One Family and its partners provide scholarships, workforce development, housing, and other solutions to hundreds of formerly homeless or at risk parents. Working to break the cycle of poverty and provide stability for future generations – one family at a time. While awakening the broader public to the realization that we are all one family, and that our public policies and private acts must be responsive to the plight of our poorest members.
