The National Alliance to End Homelessness has released a toolkit designed to help communities effectively rapidly re-house survivors of domestic violence. The toolkit includes a detailed presentation on the basics of rapid re-housing and adaptations to the model that are necessary to provide survivors with the safety and stability they need. This toolkit was developed with Catalyst Consulting and Training, Clackamas Women’s Services, the District Alliance for Safe Housing (DASH), Home Free (a Volunteers of America – Oregon program), and the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (WSCADV).
Two webinars will be held in conjunction with the release of this toolkit. Newly announced is a webinar the Alliance is co-sponsoring with DASH and WSCADV on Thursday, March 29 at 3:00 pm ET, “Homelessness Prevention for Survivors of Domestic Violence.” The second in a series of webinars on preventing and ending homelessness for survivors, it will feature Peg Hacskaylo, Executive Director of DASH, and Linda Olsen, Housing Program Coordinator at WSCADV. The first webinar of the series, “Housing for Survivors of Domestic Violence” will take place this Thursday, March 15 at 3:00 pm ET.
